Jacqueline likes to walk along the beach and in the sand dunes. In particular in the late afternoon when the light grows softer and warmer, and when most people have left back home.

The water, the air and the light are a source of inspiration, as well as a piece of blue rope that lies on the beach. When travelling, she likes to look at rocks that stretch into the sea. A painting may lead her on and often things occur by surprise.

Jacqueline likes to make portraits. Her challenge is to catch someone's personality, someone's essence. Everyone has a certain image of a person. With a photograph you may only catch a moment's impression. Sometimes you look nice on a photo, sometimes you don't even recognise yourself.

A portrait -whether drawn or painted- suggests much more than just a moment's impression. You will have one unique copy of it, and you can't order another identical one.
